  1. 老化及長壽之分子機轉
  2.       我們實驗室使用蜜蜂研究老化及長壽的分子機轉。因為蜜蜂族群數量大,工蜂壽命短(約1-2個月),蜂王壽命長(約3-5年),基因體已解碼,基因組成類似脊椎動物。我們使用工蜂研究老化的分子機轉,蜂王研究長壽的分子機轉。我們以老化指標,粒線體能量代謝,能量調節分子,細胞能量代謝,細胞降解作用,細胞免疫作用,細胞訊息傳遞,分子結構解析及基因調節等主題來探討工蜂老化的分子機轉。同樣地,我們也以這些主題來探討蜂王長壽的分子機轉。透過比較工蜂老化及蜂王長壽的分子機轉及基因體的比對,企圖找出延長人類壽命的分子機轉。

  3. 低溫環境延長壽命的分子機轉
  4.       生物處於低溫環境能延長壽命,相反地,生物處於高溫環境會縮短壽命。我們使用工蜂研究低溫環境延長壽命的分子機轉。我們也以老化指標,粒線體能量代謝,能量調節分子,細胞能量代謝,細胞降解作用,細胞免疫作用,細胞訊息傳遞,分子結構解析及基因調節等主題來探討工蜂處於低溫環境延長壽命及處於高溫環境縮短壽命的分子機轉。透過比較工蜂老化,高溫環境縮短壽命,蜂王長壽及低溫環境延長壽命的分子機轉及基因體的比對,企圖找出延長人類壽命的分子機轉。

  5. 抗老化藥物之建構及篩選
  6.       透過比較工蜂老化,高溫環境縮短壽命,蜂王長壽及低溫環境延長壽命的分子機轉及基因體的比對,建立長壽的分子機轉。由分子結構模擬中建構及中草藥中篩選長壽分子機轉的活化劑及老化分子機轉的抑制劑,建立抗老化藥物,以延長人類壽命。
