人類疾病的小鼠動物模式

利用基因工程鼠來探究基因的活體生物功能是現代研究人員必備的研究工具。藉著熟練的大分子DNA克隆及精確控制小鼠的生殖生理學,我們可以隨機操縱小鼠的基因組成分,且可以快速的了解特定基因的組織特異性,並用其製造出人類疾病的動物模式破解特定基因的功能。現階段我們正以基因轉殖鼠及基因剔除鼠的方式,探討與阿滋海莫症 (Alzheimer disease) ,肌肉萎縮症及數個與癌轉移及 DNA複製有關的新型基因,利用製造活體動物的方式提升生物研究的層次及發展治療的應用方法。
