To understand the genetic mechanism involving the carcinogenesis of squamous cell carcinoma in oral cavity, and the differentiation of each stage by investigating the tissue blocks surgically removed from various stages of patients. The methods include fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) for examining the copy numbers of involved genes, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) for the amount of specific proteins expressed.
