Research interests:: 1. To study the roles of cell membrane proteins in tumorigenesis and chemotherapeutic resistance Cell membrane proteins can trigger intracellular signal transduction and regulate cell proliferation, differentiation and survival. Abnormal membrane protein expression and activation often lead to various types of tumors, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, lung cancer and head and neck cancer, and are quite related to the resistance to chemotherapy. This laboratory is interested in the molecular mechanisms of different cell membrane proteins involved in tumorigenesis. The membrane proteins studied include epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), E-cadherin and ATP-binding cassette transporters (ABC transporters). This basic research has led to the development of novel nano-drugs and related cancer treatment methods
2. To establish a screening platform for nucleic acid aptamers Aptamer is a short-chain nucleic acids that can identify a variety of different molecules. It is an emerging technology that is expected to replace antibody and become the next development trend in detection reagents and drug development. We establish a screening platform for nucleic acid aptamers through the screening aptamer for C-peptide of pre-proinsulin. It can further provide customized services for the development of diagnosis reagents.
