研究方向研究室特色

免疫系統在有微生物入侵時,會啟動且整合相關的抵禦機制。有趣的是,共生菌是有益宿主的,但病原菌則會造成宿主的疾病甚至死亡,因此是宿主的免疫反應攻擊的對象。免疫力的核心機制,有吞噬作用(由巨噬細胞等負責)和毒殺作用(由各類殺手細胞進行)等。我們感興趣的,是動物的免疫系統如何憑藉不同的因子,讓各式免疫細胞能夠靈活運用這兩種關鍵的機制以達到防禦健康的效果。

我們主要研究的對象是海洋無脊椎動物,例如紫海膽、美麗海葵、海豆芽等及其共生菌。近期我們在這個領域的研究即發現,在具有後天免疫物種中負責製造高親和力抗體的酵素,在無脊椎動物中就已經存在了!
